French-speaking Guide & Marketing coordinator - Edinburgh
Key responsibilities
French-speaking Guide

You will perform an average of 5 walking tours per week (groups between 1 and 20 people, tours are between 2 hours and 4 hours long)

You have a fine interest in, if not already a good knowledge of, Edinburgh and its surroundings. You will receive training from us and be provided with any content needed for the tours, but encouraged to enrich it as you gain in experience.
Sales & Marketing coordinator

You will be in charge of drafting regular communications & social media campaigns to promote Wee Ecosse

You will oversee the production of flyers and promotion material through the year
-
You will take part in the management of small events
-
Analytics: you will produce regular sales & marketing reports
-
You will take part in the development of our relationship with trade partners
Content production

Copywriting

Social media post drafting

Customer relationship
Venue Assistant

You might be responsible for opening or closing our venue on certain days

You will be expected to perform some basic sales to customers

You will prioritise giving information and helping customers that show up at the venue
Job details
The Essentials:
-
This is an 80% annualised permanent contract: during six months, you will be working 100% (From April to September). Then during the remaining six months, you will work at 60%, distributed the way you want. This means you can split the working hours throughout the week or the month in a way that suits you or combine your time off to get extended holidays (to be agreed in advance)!

Our full time week is 35h (7h per day, 5 days a week)

Hourly salary of £14

Permanent contract to start on 1st of March 2025

50% of the time will be spent guiding (training provided) and 50% of the time will be spent on marketing & sales missions, either from our offices or from home.

Your profile
Must-haves:

Fluency in both French (oral and written) and English

Right to work in the UK

High autonomy and sense of initiative

A habit to work with your voice

A taste for performing, an easiness to capture your audience’s attention

An experience in a client-facing role, ideally in tourism or hospitality

Easy contact with any type of public

Team spirit and good collaboration skills

High interest in anything related to Edinburgh and the Scottish culture as a whole

High awareness of your environment (physical environment, sense of propriety)

This roles involves getting in and out Edinburgh city centre on a daily basis

This roles involves walking outdoors for up to 8 hours a day, with breaks

Tour research to enrich existing tours or help develop new ones

Content update on the drive (to keep our facts accurate and ensure the whole team has access to our database)

Content writing for social media (post and stories for visibility and regular presence of the business on social media)
Job details

20h per week (Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday), with opportunities for overtime in high season

Hourly salary of £13,5 (roughly £24,500 FTE)

Fixed term contract to start on 1st of April 2025 and finish on 31/10/2025 (negotiable)
